DIAGNOSTIC INDICATIONS

Liposcale® is based on a high-performance technology that allows comprehensive analysis of the profile of lipoproteins present in the bloodstream. The information extracted from the profile of lipoproteins is essential in the clinic to diagnose the risk of CVD.

Liposcale® is recommended in:

  • Study of dyslipidemia in situations with a pathogenic basis associated with insulin resistance: diabetes, abdominal obesity, metabolic syndrome.
  • Study of patients with atheromatous cardiovascular disease despite not having clinically significant risk factors.
  • Less frequent lipid disorders.
  • Study of clinical situations in which classical analytical techniques cannot be applied reliably.

DIAGNOSTIC PRINCIPLE

The advanced lipoprotein test requires 0.5 ml of serum for the determination and physical measurement of the particles, including physical size and number of the different lipoprotein subclasses from 2-dimensional Nuclear Magnetic Resonance.

The Liposcale® medical software algorithm generates a report with a complete and exhaustive characterization of the lipoprotein profile:

  • The basic standard panel includes the levels of total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, non-HDL and triglycerides.
  • Advanced Lipoprotein Profile which includes the lipid composition, size, and particle concentration of the major classes of lipoproteins (VLDL, LDL, and HDL), as well as the particle concentration of 9 subclasses.
  • The lipid silhouette, a graphic representation that synthesizes the main parameters associated with cardiovascular risk.
